WHAT IS A MICROSCHOOL?
A microschool is a small, personalized learning environment which typically consists of a small group of students led by a teacher or facilitator. Our online microschool takes this concept to the next level by utilizing technology to create a virtual classroom that is engaging and interactive.

BENEFITS OF NMU
-
-Small class sizes: Our online microschool offers a strong student-to-teacher ratio, allowing for personalized attention and support for each student. We will have up to 6 learners per section and 12 learners per POD; just enough to conduct group work when needed.
-
And small enough to create close, long-lasting friendships.
-
- Flexible schedule: Our weeks are 4 days long and it includes assembly and a monthly STEAM.Classes begin at 10:00 am.
-
- High-quality curriculum: Our curriculum is designed to be engaging, challenging, and aligned with academic standards to ensure that students are receiving a top-notch education. We will be using D K-12 online curriculum as a base, however, our teachers will be using creativity while teaching and preparing learners to be successful.
-
- Socialization opportunities: Despite being online, learners will have a chance to connect with each other outside of class time as long as parents/caregivers are fully aware and in agreement.
-
- Individualized support: Our teachers are dedicated to helping each student reach their full potential by providing personalized support and guidance. Each Friday learners will have a chance to log in and meet with their teacher for extra help.
HOW IT WORKS
Our online microschool operates through a combination of live virtual classes, independent learning assignments, and interactive activities. Students will have access to a virtual classroom where they get to participate in discussions, ask questions, and engage with their peers and teachers. Learners will also be expected to work asynchronously. This way they get to learn motivation and self-guidance.
